Foundation Stage 2

Winter:

When we returned from the Christmas break, we noticed that it had been snowing. We decided to wrap up warm, put our wellies on and go for a five-minute walk around the school grounds. We talked about the season of winter and looked for signs of this. We also talked about the weather and what the sun will do to the ice and snow. As we walked, the children found footprints in the snow and enjoyed following these to see where they led to. They also enjoyed 'fishing' for treasure in the ice!

Chinese New Year:

This week we have been learning about Chinese New Year. We made Chinese lanterns, represented Chinese numerals in glitter and practised using chopsticks when transferring spaghetti into bowls. We also set up and dined in our very own Chinese restaurant and celebrated the year of the snake in the painting area.
